ZELANDIA – The 8th Continent

ZEALANDIA

New Continent

The 8th continent of the world ZEALANDIA, 5 km east of Australia and beneath present-day New Zealand has the world's oldest crust.
It took almost 375 years to find a new continent. In 1654 a Dutch sailor, Tasman was confident that there is another continent in the southern hemisphere. But unfortunately, he couldn't find it as he lost almost all of his team members in an encounter with local Māori people.
It is assumed that 94% area of this continent is underwater.
